Richard S. Field, M.D.
Dr. Richard Field’s journey in the medical community began in Athens, Georgia, where he completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry at the University of Georgia. He, then pursued his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia with. postgraduate training being completed in internal medicine at Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in rheumatology at the Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Field then embarked on a fulfilling career in the United States Air Force. He served as staff rheumatologist and assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, while stationed at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Transitioning from military service, he returned to Augusta, Georgia, where he joined the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia and served in the Army Reserve Medical Corps. Since 2001, Dr. Field has been a dedicated rheumatologist in private practice with the Augusta Arthritis Center. His dual board certification in internal medicine and rheumatology reflects his ongoing commitment to excellence in patient care and medical expertise.
Outside of the practice, Dr. Field enjoys being active, travelling, and spending quality time with his family.
